Ambrosia Azalea Variety – swelling buds

Swelling buds of the Ambrosia azalea variety, seen with drops of the drizzle which fell that day.
The Ambrosia variety of azalea. A red azalea flower, this is part of the vast Nanney collection. The Nanneys have more than 2500 azaleas grouped by hybridizer. I was privileged to visit them on a rainy day just as their early azaleas were starting to bloom – I got the variety names for most of the ones I shot – as with this Ambrosia azalea cultivar.
